WIRRE Mission Statement

Mission: To create a collaborative network to promote the success of women within the retail real estate industry.

President's Message:

I can’t believe we are halfway through our 2007-2008 season!  We have seen many accomplishments and growth this year and I would like to share a few with you.

In 2007 WIRRE achieved and closed on over 150,000 hits and we are still # 1 on the Google search engine with the key phrase “WIRRE”!  This is a 150% increase in traffic from past years.  We are excited to launch the website sponsorship program as in years past, and pleased to announce that your sponsorship will go through our 2008/2009 season.

Our membership is now at 130 and growing. Keep up the referrals Ladies and don’t forget about our contest…a trip to the spa sounds REALLY good right about now!

Thanks to the efforts of Amber Goodwin and Suzanne Katz from the community service committee, we collected and donated over a thousand dollars in December at the Members Only Dinner for Dress for Success of Baltimore.  Thank you to everyone who helped achieve this accomplishment by promoting the economic independence of women trying to get back into the workforce.

Our dedicated program committee including Stephanie Williamson, Becky Ainsworth, Gina Stewart and Shary Thur has worked really hard since our year kicked off in September to secure the top Developers, Retailers and Projects going on in our industry. Ladies, we truly recognize and appreciate all your efforts and contributions this first half of our WIRRE year, and are excitedly awaiting the balance of events that will be coming.

As in several years past, WIRRE will have a booth at the upcoming ICSC Mid Atlantic Idea Exchange March 10-11th held at the Washington DC Convention Center. We will be looking for registered volunteers and booth give-a-ways, so please let Tiffany Pugh and the ICSC committee know if you can donate your time or have ideas or suggestions for give-a-ways.

Meet the editors of our newsletters…Rhina Roberts, Kate Orloski and Susan Crusoe-Farris! These Ladies are all new WIRRE members and serve on the Executive Committee.  They are constantly looking for fresh ideas and ways to market WIRRE to our community and they want to hear from you!

February marks the time when we begin to look ahead at the upcoming WIRRE year.  So now is the time for anyone with interest in becoming more involved in the Executive Committee to let either myself, or President-Elect, Lauren Rabbitt know. WIRRE’s success is a shared effort and we need YOU to continue growing!

Thank you to all of our officers and everyone on our Executive Committee, we could not continue to have such success without you. As always, we want to hear from our members and community, we welcome your suggestions and look forward to your ideas and news!
